Today we began reading the policies of some of the parties involved in the coming election.
We looked the Education, Law and Order, and Animal Welfare policies.

Freaky Fractions!

Yesterday we began to learn about Fractions. We started our learning with a great Kahoot. The Kahoot had a range of questions that required us to use our Fraction knowledge. Today we began working in groups to fix any gaps that we had and answer any questions from yesterday. We specifically worked with equivalent fractions. Here is a You Tube video which might be helpful if you are struggling.

Transformations In Real Life Math Project

Decimals

Today we began working on adding and subtracting decimals. This is a bit tricky for some of us. If you need more practice, make sure that you watch the videos again. Miss Garland feels a bit geeky doing this, but she thinks it might help you to remember and visualise when you are working with decimals.

Today Room 17 watched this video. We were shocked! None of us would be happy saying this to someone, so we would never write it online. Watch it and let us know what you think.


We also watched this video. This one is a bit funnier! But the message is just as important. We are all online and have a lot of access to the internet so we need to think carefully about what information we share.

Hard at Work!

Room 17 have been discussing the Winter Olympics today. We have talked about the recent publicity concerning the dangerous SlopeStyle course. We came up with a list of reasons for and against competing.

Day One!

Miss Garland has a fabulous day meeting the fantastic students in room 17 today. She loved working with them and getting to know what makes them tick!
The students all received loads of notices today! Hopefully they all return them tomorrow and we can sign into our Google accounts and get working!
